Amendment to the Act Temporarily Restricting the Possibility to Obtain Residence Permits in Sweden

On 18 June 2019, the Riksdag (Swedish Parliament) decided to amend and extend the Act Temporarily Restricting the Possibility to Obtain Residence Permits in Sweden. The extension applies from 20 July 2019 to 19 July 2021.

Information from the Migration and Visa Section

Due to the high season and the increased amount of applications the waiting time to book an appointment as well as visa processing time may be longer. Please make sure that you submit your application in good time before your planned travel day. Visa application can be submitted only 90 days before the departure date.

Photo Exhibition on Fatherhood in Egypt and Sweden at Bibliotheca Alexandrina

On the 9th May 2019, the Embassy of Sweden inaugurated the exhibition “Because I am a Father: Egyptian and Swedish Dads” in Alexandria. The exhibition features photos from Egypt and Sweden, portraying the universal role of fatherhood and promoting cultural exchange and gender equality. The exhibit will be open 9th-28th May in Bibliotheca Alexandrina.
