The Permanent Representation represents Sweden at NATO HQ as a full-fledged member since March 2024.
The task involves representing Sweden and pursue Swedish security policy, defence policy and military interests throughout the NATO committee structure, including the North Atlantic Council (NAC) and the Military Committee. In addition to the formal committee meetings, the mission also entails upholding continuous informal meetings and contacts with other Allied representatives and the NATO Secretariat.
The Representation is staffed with personnel from the Ministry for Foreign Affairs, Ministry of Defence, the Armed Forces and locally employed staff.
