The Embassy of Sweden in Brussels is reopened as of 1 September 2025. Johanna Brismar Skoog is Sweden’s new Ambassador to Belgium and Luxembourg.
Ambassador Johanna Brismar Skoog presented her credentials at a formal audience at the Royal Palace in Brussels on 9 October, 2025 to His Majesty King Philippe. She has had a long career in Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign affairs and has previously served as the Ambassador in Brasilia and Jakarta, as well as worked at the embassies in Bogotá and Vienna and at Sweden’s permanent representations in Brussels and New York. Johanna Brismar Skoog has also worked for several departments at Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm and for Business Sweden in New York.
The Embassy of Sweden is expected to become a fully authorised passport issuing authority by the beginning of year 2027, following establishment in permanent premises.
