Ms Annika Ben David has been serving as the Ambassador of Sweden to Austria and Slovakia and Permanent Representative of Sweden to the International Organizations in Vienna (excl. OSCE) since August 2025.
Ambassador Ben David joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs of Sweden 1995, after serving for the UNHCR in Geneva and in Stockholm. She holds double Master’s Degrees in International Relations and Political Science from L’Institut de Hautes Études Internationales (Geneva Graduate Institute) and Uppsala University respectively. She has served as Sweden’s Ambassador to Serbia and to Montenegro, to the Democratic Republic of the Congo and as Ambassador-at-large for Human Rights, Democracy and the Rule of Law. She is fluent in French and English.
