You need to come to the Embassy in Canberra to apply for or renew your Swedish passport.
Following the outbreak of Covid-19 and state lockdowns, a high number of already booked appointments are being postponed. This has resulted in longer waiting times than usual for new bookings. Appointments are currently available from the end of the year. It is possible to renew your passport even if it has expired.
You can book an appointment by sending an e-mail to ambassaden.canberra-pass@gov.se with your full name, personal number/coordination number and preferred date and time of appointment. The confirmation e-mail will provide you with information of what is needed to renew.
We ask all passport customers to please confirm an appointment with the Embassy before booking flights and accommodation.
