Temporary entry ban to Sweden

To mitigate the effects of the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the outbreak, a temporary ban on entry to the EU via Sweden is in force. The Government has decided to extend the entry ban until 22 December 2020. Due to the coronavirus and the temporary entry ban to Sweden, the Swedish Migration Agency has decided that the majority of visa applications will be rejected. This applies if you wish to visit Sweden and are a citizen of a country outside the EU.

Sweden’s Prime Minister marks the 25th anniversary of the Beijing Platform for Action

On the occasion of the 25th anniversary of 189 UN Member States adopting the Beijing Platform for Action, an action plan for achieving the goals of the UN Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Discrimination against Women, Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven delivered a digital address to the UN General Assembly on 1 October on the theme of gender equality in the light of the COVID-19 pandemic.
