Change for those living in Singapore who wish to apply for a residence and work permit in Sweden

Starting 15 December 2025, the Embassy of Sweden in Singapore will no longer handle migration-related matters. Instead, you should contact the Embassy of Sweden in Bangkok.

Residence and Work Permits
If you are a citizen of Singapore or legally residing there, you have previously contacted the Swedish Embassy in Singapore to apply for residence and work permits. From 15 December 2025, you must instead contact the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok if you need to make a personal visit, for example, to attend an interview, undergo a passport check, or provide biometric data.

Please note that after 15 December 2025, the Embassy in Singapore will no longer be able to answer questions about residence and work permits in Sweden or other migration-related matters. All inquiries should be directed to the Embassy in Bangkok.

To book an appointment or contact the Embassy in Bangkok, see the link here below:

If you have already submitted an application to the Embassy in Singapore and, for example, have a scheduled interview or are waiting to receive your residence permit card, you will be contacted.

Applications for Schengen visas
If you are residing in Singapore and wish to apply for a Schengen visa, you can continue to submit your application at the external service provider VFS Global’s office in Singapore. Your visa application will be processed by the Embassy in Bangkok according to the current procedure.
