Sweden & Russia

Only medical insurance certificate issued by a company established outside Russia is accepted as valid.

For travelers holding a valid visa:

Travelers who hold a valid Schengen visa – whether single-entry or multiple-entry, and regardless of its validity period – must always be able to present valid and acceptable medical travel insurance upon entry into the Schengen area.

Please note that, in accordance with the European Commission’s Guidelines No. 13054/22 (September 2022), medical insurance certificates issued by Russian insurance providers are no longer accepted.

Travelers who hold a valid visa but do not have valid medical insurance may be refused entry at the border. Entry is ultimately determined by the Border Control Authorities upon arrival.
