Is the Embassy currently open to visitors?

Yes. To visit the Embassy you need a confirmed appointment.

How do I book an appointment at the Embassy?

Appointments are generally only provided if you have applied for residence or work permit. To book an appointment, please use this link: Book an appointment - Sweden Abroad. After submitting your request, you will be contacted by the Embassy.

How do I apply for a Schengen visa?

The Embassy does not process Schengen visa applications. The Swedish Migration Agency is responsible for Schengen visa applications submitted at in Pakistan. To book an appointment to submit a Schengen visa application, please use this link: Book an appointment | vfsglobal.

What is my control number?

When you have applied for residence or work permit, an e-mail will be sent to you and/or the reference person/employer in Sweden. The e-mail is sent to the e-mail address stated in the application. This e-mail contains the control number. If you have not received an e-mail with the control number, contact the reference person/employer in Sweden or the person that submitted the application. 

What is the status of my application?

You can check the status of your application on the Swedish Migration Agency’s website.

When do I receive my residence permit card?

Once you have been granted a residence permit, it takes approximately four weeks for the residence permit card to be delivered to the Embassy. You will be notified by e-mail when the card has been delivered.

The residence permit card must be collected at the Embassy. If you want the residence card to be sent to someone in Sweden, you should inform the Embassy during your appointment.

If you authorize someone else to collect the residence permit card on your behalf, the authorized person must demonstrate a valid power of attorney.  You can find a power of attorney form here: Forms – Swedish Migration Agency.

When will I get a decision?

General information about estimated processing times is available at the Swedish Migration Agency’s website.

How do I receive a copy of my decision?

A copy of the decision can be collected at the Embassy. You must book an appointment to collect the decision. With a valid power of attorney, you may authorize someone else to collect the decision on your behalf.
