Embassy closed

The embassy will be closed 24-27 December and 31 December–3 January in observance of Christmas and the New Year’s Holidays. Swedish citizens in need of emergency assistance when the embassy is closed should contact the Ministry for Foreign Affairs out-of-hours service in Stockholm via the embassy's telephone switchboard or by calling +46-8-405 10 00.

Temporary entry ban extended until 31 March 2021 and amended due to Brexit

Since March, a temporary ban on entry to the EU via Sweden has been in force. The Government today decided to extend the entry ban until 31 March 2021. At the same time, the Government has adopted a new exemption from the entry ban due to Brexit.

Visa application to Sweden

Due to the Corona pandemic, it is no longer possible to apply for or issuing of visas for travels to Sweden in Mozambique. For Schengen visas to Sweden, please contact one of the following Swedish embassies: Embassy of Sweden in Pretoria Embassy of Sweden in Addis Ababa Embassy of Sweden in Lusaka Embassy of Sweden in Nairobi. Please note that applying by mail is only possible if the applicant has previously applied for and been granted a visa within the last 59 months, meaning biometric information is already in the system. Otherwise, applicants must appear in person at one of the above-mentioned embassies to submit biometrics, i.e. photo and fingerprints.
