Extension of temporary entry ban to Sweden until 31 October 2020

To mitigate the effects of the spread of COVID-19 and reduce the outbreak, a temporary ban on entry to the EU via Sweden is in force. The Government today decided to extend the entry ban until 31 October 2020.

Questions and answers – temporary entry ban to the European Union via Sweden

On 17 March, the Government decided to temporarily ban non-essential travel to Sweden from all countries except European Union Member States, the United Kingdom, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein and Switzerland. The entry ban was introduced following a call by the European Council and European Commission with the aim of mitigating the effects of the spread of the SARS-CoV-2 virus and reducing the outbreak of COVID-19. The ban has been in effect since 19 March following a recommendation by the Commission. It has now been extended until 30 June.

Important information about the COVID-19 pandemic: Flights

All passenger flights to and from Mozambique have been cancelled from the 12th of May til the 29th of June. Ethiopian airlines are planning to go back to service the 1st of July. The TAP flight scheduled for the 7th of June is cancelled and TAP will start flying again on the 15th of July as earliest. Contact the companies for more information. Visa application to Sweden

Due to the Corona pandemic, it is no longer possible to apply for or issuing of visas for travels to Sweden in Mozambique. Hence applicants are referred to the Embassies of Sweden that issues visas in Africa: Embassy of Sweden in Pretoria and Embassy of Sweden in Addis Abeba.
