Appeals

If you are not satisfied with the decision you have been given, you can appeal it. The appeal must be in writing and must  arrive at the embassy no later than three weeks after the date you received the decision.

The appeal must state:

  • Which decision you wish to appeal.
  • How you want the decision to be changed.
  • Your name, date of birth, postal address and telephone number.
  • Any circumstances or evidence/proof that you wish to add to your case.

If someone else signs the appeal on your behalf, that person must be authorised to represent you (power of attorney). The power of attorney document must be signed by you and submitted in the original together with your appeal.

Please send your appeal via e-mail to ambassaden.skopje-visum@gov.se

You can also hand it in at the Embassy during our normal opening hours 09.00-11.00 Monday-Thursday. An appeal cannot be submitted at VFS Global in Pristina.

It is the embassy that initially decides whether to review the decision. The embassy will normally make a decision on whether or not to change the decision within five days. If the embassy decides to change the decision a visa will be issued. If the embassy decides not to change its decision, the case is forwarded to the Migration Court in Gothenburg, Sweden. The waiting times at the Migration Court are around 1-3 months.  Contact information to the Migration Court in Gothenburg can be found here.
