You have to apply in person at VFS. Please observe that all visa applications are handled and decided by the Embassy of Sweden in Dhaka.

If you for some reason do not want to submit your application for Schengen visa at the VFS.Global you need an appointment provided by the Embassy in order to submit the application directly to the Embassy. Please send an e-mail to ambassaden.dhaka-visum@gov.se in order to get an appointment.

Citizens of Bangladesh (and some other countries) need to go through a mandatory consultation procedure before they can be granted a visa. This is to verify that no member state objects to their entering the Schengen area.  The speed of the consultation process can´t be affected by the Embassy and may take up to 15 days to finalize. During this period the application is normally blocked from further action to be taken. Please be informed that, therefore, the visa application process may take up to 15 days or occasionally even longer to process. -* A comprehensive list of citizens subject to consultation is found in annex 16 to Article 22 of the Visa Code.

Information regarding handling time of the Schengen visa applications in peak season:

The processing time for the Schengen Visa Applications may take up to 15 days or in some cases even longer. Therefore, plan well and submit your visa application well ahead of you planned travel dates, though at the earliest three months before your planned visit.
