In some cases, the embassy may require additional documents to establish citizenship
Upon application, it usually takes two to four weeks before you can pick up your passport/ID-card at the embassy or a consulate. Don't forget to bring your old passport/ID-card when you pick up the new passport/ID-card.

A relative, with an accepted ID-document (see question 3), can accompany you to the embassy to guarantee your identity. In that case you also need to bring your own passport picture.

A provisional passport is issued directly upon application and applies to a specific journey. Therefore, you need to prove your need for a provisional passport by showing a ticket or a booking.

You are responsible to ensure that the country you intend to visit accepts Swedish provisional passports. Please also keep in mind that your regular passport will be revoked, if it is still valid, when you apply for a provisional passport.
If you move to Slovenia you can use your Swedish driving licence until its validity period expires. Afterwards the Swedish driving license must be replaced by a driving license from Slovenia.
If you are registered in Sweden, but are temporarily located in Slovenia, you can renew your Swedish driving license and collect it at the embassy or a consulate. You can also order a form from the Swedish Transport Agency's customer service at +46 771-81 81 81.
The Swedish Transport Agency sends the new driving license to the embassy or consulate that you have written in your application. The embassy or consulate charges a fee when you pick up your driving license.
