Applications for ordinary passports (or national ID cards) can be made at the Police Authority in Sweden and Swedish Embassies abroad that have been authorised to issue ordinary passport. Information is available on the Swedish Police's website and on government.se. The Embassy in Dublin has not been granted permission to issue ordinary passports, but can issue emergency passports (see information under a separate heading) if a passport has expired or been lost.
It is possible to collect your passport at the Embassy in Dublin, if it is stated at the time of your application. After notification that the passport has arrived in Dublin, it can be collected during the Embassy's visiting hours. A handling fee of €18 is payable at the Embassy. Feel free to pay by card.
