National ID card in Cyprus

You can apply for a national ID card at the embassy.

  • The card states that you are a Swedish citizen. It has a validity period of five years and is issued in Swedish and English.
  • With the national ID card, you can travel throughout the EU since 1 July 2015.
  • You can also use the ID card as an identity document in Sweden.
  • You apply for the ID card in the same way as when you apply for a regular passport. The ID card does not contain fingerprints.
  • Fee for the ID card, corresponds to SEK 1600 in local currency.
