To visit the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra, a pre-booked appointment is required. When you visit us, please arrive maximum 15 minutes prior to your appointment time. If you are to hand in any type of application, all necessary documentation must be prepared before your visit.
Please note that only a person with a booked appointment (including legal guardians for minors) can be let in to the Embassy area, other accompanying persons must wait outside. If you arrive by car, street parking is available in the area outside of the Embassy. Upon arrival to the Embassy’s gate, you will be asked to provide information about your appointment and present valid photo identification.
How you book an appointment to visit the Embassy depends on the purpose for your visit.
Monday-Thursday: 09.00-12.00 and 14.00-16.00
Friday: 09.00-12.00 and 14.00-15.00
Monday-Friday 09.00-11.00
For emergency consular assistance to Swedes abroad outside of the Embassy’s office hours, please call the Embassy’s switchboard and press “0” to be transferred to the Ministry for Foreign Affairs' consular emergency service in Sweden “UD-jouren”. The Ministry for Foreign Affairs' consular emergency service is staffed 24 hours a day, every day of the year, and can also be reached from abroad on the direct number +46 8 405 50 05.
