You always need to make an appointment to pick up a passport/ID card/driver’s license at the Consulate General in San Francisco.
You need to bring your old passport/national ID-card/driver’s license when you pick up the new one. If your old one has already expired, bring another form of valid photo ID with clearly visible signature. A parent/legal guardian can pick up a new passport for a minor (under age 18). The child does not need to be present. All applicants 18 and older must pick up their passports in person. You schedule your appointment using the link below. Schedule the appointment in an adult's name.
For pickup of the new passport/ID-card at a consulate/embassy other than the one at which the application was submitted, there is an additional pick-up fee of $19, and sometimes also a shipping fee of $10, payable in cash only, at time of pick-up. The fee for the driver’s license may vary.
The booking system will offer two options in a drop-down menu:

2) visit us during reception visiting hours
→Choose option 2!
