Ambassador Charlotte Kugelberg is the Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations since September 2026.

Ambassador Charlotte Kugelberg has served as the Permanent Representative of Sweden to the United Nations since 1 September 2026. Prior to her current appointment, she was State Secretary at the Swedish Ministry of Justice. She has also held senior positions as Director General for Legal Affairs at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and Director General for Administrative Affairs at the Ministry of Employment.
Her earlier assignments include serving as Senior Judge at Nacka District Court and holding several legal and managerial positions at the Ministry of Justice and the Prime Minister’s Office. She began her career at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and subsequently trained as a judge at district court and court of appeal level.
Ambassador Kugelberg holds a Master of Laws from Stockholm University and a master’s degree in European Legal Studies from the College of Europe in Bruges. Her studies also included a period as an Erasmus student at Sapienza University of Rome.
