Report trade barriers

The EU’s internal market covers an area without internal borders, where free movement is ensured in accordance with the provisions of the European treaties. No trade barriers between member countries should occur.

Despite this, Swedish companies and private individuals often encounter obstacles to free movement. Trade barriers refer to all kinds of government measures that hinder or complicate trade in goods and services, for example in the form of incorrect application of rules, hassle and unnecessary bureaucracy.

Helping Swedish companies with support and advice regarding trade barriers is one of the foreign service’s most important tasks.
