Do I need a visa to travel to Sweden?

Moldovan citizens with biometric passports can travel to the Schengen area without visa, and stay for 90 days within a 180-day period.

Schengen Visa Applications (Non-biometric Passports)
Moldovan citizens holding older, non-biometric passports should contact the EU Common Visa Application Centre in Chișinău, administered by the Embassy of Hungary. The Centre handles visa applications to Sweden and other Schengen countries.

Address: 131, Stefan cel Mare Street, Chișinău

Residence and Work Permit Applications
The Embassy in Chisinau does not process any visas. Due to Romania's entry into the Schengen area, the Swedish Embassy in Bucharest no longer handles migration matters. Instead, applicants from Moldova should contact one of five designated Swedish “Schengen hub” embassies: Athens, Berlin, Madrid, Paris, or Rome.

You may choose any of these five embassies to submit your residence or work permit application. Note that this change does not affect Schengen visa applications. Contact details for all Swedish missions abroad are available at swedenabroad.se.
