Henrik Cederin took up the position as Sweden’s ambassador to the Republic of Cyprus in August 2026. He has previously held positions as Sweden’s ambassador to Australia 2019-2022 and to Zambia 2015-2019.
Prior to coming to Cyprus, Henrik Cederin served as Director at the Human Resources Department of the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in Stockholm in charge of Selection and Recruitment, handling the rotation of all diplomatic staff as well as overseeing the process around appointments of ambassadors and heads of departments. In Stockholm 2010-2015, he served as Director and Deputy Head of the Department for Asia and the Pacific Region.
Mr Cederin has held postings at the Swedish embassies in Seoul, Tel Aviv and Tokyo, as well as in the Permanent Representation of Sweden to the European Union in Brussels. Mr Cederin joined the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1991.
Henrik Cederin also has a background in management consulting and corporate communications, having worked for two leading Swedish consultancies (SIAR-Bossard and Kreab). He has a degree in Business Administration from the Stockholm School of Economics (1984-1988), went through the United Nations Disarmament Fellowship Programme (1992) and has served on the board of the European Institute of Japanese Studies at the Stockholm School of Economics (2011-2015).
Henrik Cederin was born in 1963 and is married with one child.
