On 18 April, the Government of Sweden appointed Ms Helena Sångeland as Sweden's Ambassador to China.
Ms Sångeland is currently Sweden's Ambassador in Teheran. She has been the head of the Asia Department at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs. Her previous postings include Kuala Lumpur, Hanoi, Helsinki and Rom.
Ms Sångeland will take up her new position as Ambassador in Beijing this spring.
Sweden has diplomatic relations with almost all States in the world. It has embassies and consulates in around half of these. Sweden's foreign representation consists of approximately 100 missions abroad and 350 honorary consulates.
