The Embassy of Sweden is opening its doors for visitors to experience Swedish innovation, music, Pippi Longstocking and IKEA!

The Embassy of Sweden in Canberra is proud to participate in Windows to the World 2025, celebrating Sweden’s cultural heritage, innovation, and global influence in music.

Join us on Saturday 18 October, from 10 am to 4 pm for a day of engaging activities for all ages:

  • Swedish Innovation Station  with hands-on activities showcasing Sweden’s creative solutions.
  • IKEA Station  showcasing Swedish innovation through stories and experiences inspired by one of Sweden’s most iconic brands.
  • Pippi Longstocking Family Area celebrating Pippi’s 80th anniversary with games and activities for children and families.
  • Swedish Music Exhibition featuring Sweden’s impact as one of the world’s leading music exporters.

Enjoy live performances throughout the day:

  • ABBA music by the Andante Andante Choir at 10:30 am, 12:30 pm, and 2:05 pm
  • Nyckelharpa performances at 10:55 am, 12:55 pm, and 2:30 pm, featuring Sweden’s traditional keyed fiddle instrument

Information for our visitors

  • Please bring photo-id matching the name on your invitation at the entrance gate to the grounds of the Embassy of Sweden.
  • Photography is not allowed in the grounds of the Embassy of Sweden.  
  • Importantly, large bags or bulky items and electronic devices (including laptops and iPads) are not permitted, and they cannot be left by the entrance. If you have any such items, please plan on leaving them in your office/vehicle. Handbags (or equivalent) are allowed. Mobile phones are permitted.
  • No parking is permitted on the grounds of the Embassy. 
  • Participants enter the grounds of the Embassy of Sweden at the own risk, this includes should you participate in any physical activities, and the Embassy of Sweden cannot be held accountable should anything happen.
