His Excellency Mr. Klas Molin, Ambassador of Sweden to Australia and New Zealand
Ambassador Klas Molin has extensive experience from the Asia-Pacific region, having been Ambassador to the Republic of India from 2017-2022 and to the Kingdom of Thailand from 2011-2015 while also accredited to several other countries in South and South-East Asia. Between 2006-2011, Ambassador Molin was Head of the Department for Asia and the Pacific in Sweden’s Ministry for Foreign Affairs.
Prior to his current posting, he was Director-General in the MFA for Administrative Affairs and Management, and he has also served as Chief of Protocol in the MFA. Earlier foreign postings include Bangkok, New York and Washington D.C.
Ambassador Molin has a Master of Arts in Law and Diplomacy (MALD) degree from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy in the United States, where he was a Fulbright Fellow, and he holds a bachelor’s degree with distinction from Uppsala University in Sweden.
Klas Molin hails from Stockholm, Sweden and has a partner and three sons and a grandson, with whom he greatly enjoys sports and the outdoors.
