Vacancy Notice-Financial/Administrative Officer

The Embassy of Sweden in Yerevan is looking for a Financial/Administrative Officer and is inviting all eligible applicants to apply

Work tasks include:

  • Matters related to the administration of the Embassy, mainly supporting the Head of Administration.
  • Accounting, including procurements, preparing and registering vouchers, payments, reimbursements, VAT refunds and internet banking.
  • Allocation of the Embassy’s annual delegated budget and monthly budget follow ups in close cooperation with the HoA.
  • Negotiating contracts with suppliers and negotiating and preparing rental agreements in cooperation with the HoA.
  • Assists in the management of leased property and contacts with landlords.
  • Prepares payroll documentation for all locally-employed staff, monitors and assists with HR-related matters for incoming and outgoing colleagues.
  • Secondary responsibility for consular and protocol matters.

Qualifications:

  • Academic degree in a field relevant to the position.
  • Minimum of three years’ hands-on work experience in accounting, preferably from an Embassy or an international organization
  • Fluency in written and spoken Armenian and English
  • Computer skills, including basic MS Office tools, information searching and troubleshooting.
  • Other requirements:
  • Strong sense of integrity, loyalty, and responsibility.
  • Structured, service-minded, organized and with excellent administrative capacity.
  • Excellent time management, organizational and orientation skills, and an ability to work calmly under pressure, demonstrate flexibility and adapt easily to new tasks and responsibilities.
  • Team player, willing to co-operate and to learn.
  • Ability to evaluate, initiate and perform administrative tasks and to coordinate certain work with external service providers.

Great emphasis will be placed on personal suitability.

About the Embassy:

With its inception in March 2014, the Embassy of Sweden in Yerevan has since significantly increased in size, being represented by a resident Ambassador and including bilateral development cooperation with Armenia from 2020. The working language at the Embassy is English. The employment will be in accordance with the Embassy’s staff terms and conditions as well as with local legislation and begins with a three-month probation period. The position is full-time, 39 hours and 45 minutes per week. Working remotely is not possible.
