Important Notice: Change in Schengen Visa Applications for Denmark in Nepal

Sweden currently represents Denmark for Schengen visa applications in Nepal.

This arrangement will end on 30 September 2026. Due to processing and transport timelines, Tuesday, 15 September 2026 will be the last day applications for Denmark can be accepted under the current arrangement. From 1 October 2026, applicants whose main destination is Denmark must submit their Schengen visa application through the new arrangement. Applications will be assessed by the Embassy of Denmark in New Delhi.

Application gap

Please note that applications for Denmark cannot be accepted between 16 September and 30 September 2026, barring exceptional cases. Applicants submitting after 15 September must wait until 1 October 2026 to lodge their application.

Applicants who have applied via Sweden:

- Applications submitted on or before 15 September 2026 will continue to be processed by the Embassy of Sweden in New Delhi.

- Applicants who booked an appointment and not submitted documents may contact the Nepal VFS to request a refund, where applicable.

- There is no change for applications where the main destination is Sweden.

Further information on application procedures, forms, and appointments will be provided on the VFS Global website.
