The threat to Sweden and Swedish interests abroad was already classed as heightened.
In light of the fact that two Swedes have been killed in Brussels following a terrorist act, Swedes abroad are encouraged to exercise increased caution and vigilance, and follow the advice of local authorities.
Swedes abroad are also encouraged to register on the list of Swedish citizens abroad, and download the UD Resklar app and activate push notifications for the country in question.
The Embassy of Sweden in Monrovia only process visa applications for official or business visits to Sweden as well as visits to France after the French Embassy’s priority. The Swedish Embassy however do not handle applications to any other Schengen member state, nor tourist visits to Sweden.
Please note that the turnaround time from submitting a complete application to decision is up to 15 calendar days. Applicants are encouraged to apply with good foresight and at least 15 days before departure. The Embassy reserves the right to use all 15 days, regardless of departure date. A late submission of an application or an incomplete application may well mean that you will miss the departure or that the embassy will reject your application.
