Applications for Schengen Visas from countries in the Pacific region

Starting from the 4th of September 2025, applications for Schengen visas from citizens of Fiji, Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu, as well as third-country nationals residing in these countries, will be processed by the Swedish Embassy in Bangkok. Applicants will, however, still be able to submit their Schengen visa applications at the Swedish Embassy in Canberra. The embassy will register the applications and forward them to the embassy in Bangkok for further processing and decision-making. Applications are received and registered at the embassy in Canberra by appointment (ambassaden.canberra@gov.se).

This change means that citizens and third-country nationals residing in Fiji, Micronesia, Papua New Guinea, Solomon Islands, Samoa, Tonga, and Vanuatu will also be able to submit their Schengen visa applications at the embassy in Bangkok and at the external service provider VFS Global’s following application centers:

Bangkok (Thailand),

Yangon (Myanmar),

Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City (Vietnam),

Manilla and Cebu (The Philippines),

Jakarta and Bali (Indonesia),

Phnom Penh (Cambodia),

Kuala Lumpur (Malaysia),

Singapore (Singapore),

Seoul (South Korea),

Tokyo (Japan)

Applicants who wish to submit their application directly at the embassy in Bangkok must contact the embassy via the following email address migration.bangkok@gov.se(opens in a new tab) to schedule an appointment.
