Sweden & Algeria

Update per 22 April 2021

No Schengen visas (less than 90 days) issued, and entry ban to Sweden until 31 May 2021.

The Schengen embassies in Algiers have not issued Schengen visas (less than 90 days) since Algeria closed its boarders approximately one year ago.

At present, there is also an entry ban to Sweden in place until the 31st of May 2021. There are however a number of exceptions to the entry ban. The Swedish Police is the authority working with the exceptions, and decisions are made from case to case. For all information please advise this page:

Please note that the information in the grey text field points out that the Swedish Police do not offer any advance permission and an application for application of an exception to the entry ban cannot be made prior to arrival at a Swedish border.
