For Swedes in Australia

Fees and payment methods

If you need to pay a fee in connection with a visit to the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra or one of Sweden’s Honorary Consulates in Australia, you should check in advance which payment methods are accepted. All fees are payable in local currency (AUD).

At the Embassy of Sweden in Canberra, payment is accepted by bank card (Visa or Mastercard). The card must be a physical card issued in the name of the person making the payment. Unfortunately, we do not accept contactless payment methods, such as PayWave and mobile phone payments. Cash payments can only be accepted if the exact amount is provided.

For information about accepted payment methods at Sweden’s Honorary Consulates in Australia, please contact the relevant Consulate directly. Contact information can be found further down on this page.

A list of the most common fees in Australia and New Zealand can be found here: Fees list.

Fees for different types of matters and services at Swedish missions abroad are regulated by the Swedish Fees Ordinance. Amounts in local currency are updated regularly based on the exchange rate determined by the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs (MFA).
