To inspire to children’s reading, writing, inventing and creating, the Embassy of Sweden, Soma Book café and Mkuki na Nyota have come together to arrange a Children’s Literature Festival in Tanzania 15-20 November 2021. The festival will revolve around the Swedish children’s book “Full speed ahead, Johanna the inventor” by Ann-Christin Magnusson, published in Sweden by Olika Förlag (in English “Different Publishers”). The book was recently translated into Swahili. The Festival will comprise of different events connected to children’s culture and literature, to promote creating, innovating, reading and writing. The publisher in Sweden has a specific focus on books for children that challenge stereotypes and norms in different ways.
Official launch of the book at National Library Symposium in Dodoma, where the regional libraries in Tanzania will be given copies of the Swahili version of Full speed ahead, Johanna the Inventor!

Little Champs Book Club, hosted by Mkuki na Nyota at The Drum. An event for children where they can listen to the book being read, read it themselves, and get inspired by Johanna the inventor to start inventing in the DIY-studio.
