Call for proposals: Study on corruption in the health sector in Zambia

The U4 Anti-Corruption Resource Centre, Sida and the Embassy of Sweden in Zambia are requesting proposals for a study on corruption in Zambia’s health sector. We invite expressions of interest to carry out this assignment from individual or collaborating experts with excellent analytical and writing skills, as well as intimate knowledge of the Zambian health sector and political economy. Experts should also be skilled in strategy development.

Study objectives

The study aims to:

  • Identify the most common corruption risks across the six pillars of the health system
  • Identify the most common corruption manifestations that threaten health outcomes in Zambia, with a special focus on equitable access to healthcare, including sexual health and reproductive health.
  • Understand the role corruption plays in healthcare service delivery, particularly its impact on vulnerable groups
  • Understand the political economy of corruption in Zambia’s health sector

Outputs and deliverables

  • Background study report
  • Workshop presentation and participation and discussions
  • Workshop rapporteur

Submission of proposals

Proposals will be evaluated based on the proposed approach to the assignment and the qualifications and experience of the experts.

Tenders shall be submitted to the contracting authority in accordance with the instructions in the procurement document no later than 2022-07-15 at 16.30 pm.
