The annual Swedish Midsummer Festival takes place - rain or shine - in Battery Park City in downtown Manhattan on Friday, June 21. At this unique celebration, guests of all ages dance around the midsummer pole to traditional folk music, picnic in the grass, and enjoy seasonal treats from local Swedish restaurants and food vendors.

The program features traditional music by Paul Dahlin and fiddlers from the American Swedish Institute in Minneapolis and folk dancing with Barnklubben Elsa Rix, led by Ross Sutter.
This year’s event will have an increased focus on sustainability. We’re encouraging festival guests and food vendors to be conscious of our footprint in the park, making a greater effort to recycle and reduce the use of plastics.
The Swedish Midsummer Festival is co-presented by the Battery Park City Authority and the Consulate General of Sweden in New York, with support from leading Swedish companies: Volvo Cars, Fotografiska New York, Spotify, Oatly, Scandinavian Airlines, Visit Sweden, Swedbank, Handelsbanken, SEB, Patricia Industries, and Skanska USA.
