Financial Officer for the Administration Department

The Embassy of Sweden in London currently has 30 employees, 10 diplomats and 20 local employees. The Embassy covers a wide range of activities, such as international relations, trade policy, business promotion, press, information, including promotion of Swedish culture, legal, migration and consular maters.

To support the operational activities, the Embassy’s administrative section is responsible for HR, the application of internal rules and regulations, property administration, budgeting, and accounting.

As a Financial Officer, you will work closely with the Head of Chancery, handling the Embassy's financial administration.

Duties include processing invoices, bookkeeping, preparing payments and salary administration in different digital systems, as well as participating in the budgetary work at the Embassy.

We are looking for a person with a relevant educational background and experience in financial administration and maintaining payrolls. You will need to have a strong sense of responsibility, attention to detail and a service-minded approach. You must be able to work well under pressure. You will have excellent accounting skills and be familiar with both Swedish and British legal requirements. You will have knowledge of working with Excel and be fluent in English and preferably in Swedish. Experience of working in Palasso, Business World and knowledge of accounting in the local tax system Bright Pay and the pension system NEST is an advantage.

The role is a full-time position with a six-month probationary period. Salaries are decided individually. Security and register checks will be carried out prior to employment.

It is a mandatory requirement that you have the right to reside and work in the UK (pre-settled or settled status or British citizenship). You do not need to be a Swedish citizen to apply for this role.
