On December 4, 2019, Prime Minister of Sweden Stefan Löfven will visit Kyiv to meet with the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelenskyy and Prime Minister of Ukraine Oleksiy Honcharuk. The Prime Minister will also meet representatives of the Ukrainian civil society and alumni of Sweden supported Kyiv School of Economics.
The upcoming visit will focus on the Russian aggression against eastern Ukraine and Russia's annexation of Crimea, Ukraine's reform agenda and Swedish reform support, trade-related issues and EU-Ukraine relations.
Sweden contributes around 240 million SEK (about 25 million USD) annually in support of Ukraine's continued reform process. Swedish support is focused on democracy and good governance, human rights, gender equality, environment, and energy efficiency as well as the implementation of the EU-Ukraine Association Agreement.
