Qatar Airways are organising “charter relief flights” departing from Johannesburg during May

Those who wish to explore the possibility of traveling with Qatar Airways should first ensure that they have the right to enter Sweden, under the current entry ban (https://www.government.se/articles/2020/04/faqs--entry-to-the-eu-via-sweden-banned/).

The rules for who can travel on the flights planned by Qatar Airways may differ from those that are in place for the entry ban for Sweden. All who want to book a ticket with Qatar Airways should check with the airline that they fulfil the criteria for traveling on these flights. According to information from the airline South African citizens will not be able to book these flights, but please contact Qatar Airways for additional information and eligibility of those holding double citizenships.

The Embassy has been informed that the time allowed for transit in Doha is limited to 24 hours and that travellers are not allowed to leave the transit hall during this time.
