Swedish General Elections 2022- How to vote from Serbia

The 2022 Swedish general election to the parliament, city and county is scheduled for 11th of September 2022. Swedish citizens living abroad have a possibility to vote early at the Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade.

In order to vote you must apply to the Swedish Tax Agency (Skatteverket) every ten years to be included on the electoral roll for a further ten years. Before the election, the Election Authority (Valmyndigheten) sends out expatriate voting cards and postal voting materials to all Swedes who are listed with the Tax Agency as resident outside Sweden 30 days before election. In order to be included on the electoral roll you must complete the form "Ny adress/röstlängd för utvandrad" and send it to the Swedish Tax Agency (SKV 7842.pdf).

Postal voting is possible from the 28th of July. You must make sure that your vote will have arrived by the 9th of September. You can find more information about early voting by clicking here.

Early voting at the Embassy 

Swedish citizens living abroad have a possibility to vote early at the Embassy of Sweden in Belgrade.

Friday, 26 August 09.00 - 11.00

Saturday, 27 August 09.00-12.00

Monday, 29 August 09.00-11.00

Tuesday, 30 August 09.00-11.00

Wednesday, 31 August 09.00-11.00

Thursday, 1 September 16.00-18.00

Friday, 2 September 09.00-11.00

Please bring your Swedish Passport / Swedish ID-Card along with a valid voting card.

Please observe that only postal voting is possible from Montenegro. You can collect the voting material for postal voting at the Swedish Honorary Consulate in Podgorica.
