PROGRAMME OFFICER AGRICULTURE AND INCLUSIVE ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT EMBASSY OF SWEDEN - MAPUTO
The Embassy of Sweden in Maputo is seeking for a programme officer within the thematic areas of agriculture and inclusive economic development. If you are committed to these questions, enjoy teamwork, and have a solid experience as a programme officer, then this is something for you.
Sweden’s development cooperation with Mozambique aims to improve opportunities for people living in poverty to contribute to and benefit from an inclusive socioeconomic and democratic development.
The contract isfor two years, with a possibility for extension. The position includes monitoring and follow-up of programmes and hence implies travels in Mozambique and the region.
Work Tasks and responsibilities
- Manage contributions implemented by Sweden’s partner organisations in the fields of agriculture and inclusive economic development, including all steps from writing appraisal documents to dialogue with partner organisations, follow-up, and monitoring of programme implementation, including financial control and administration.
- Contribute to the Embassy’s analysis and reporting on the development of agriculture and inclusive economic development, including engaging with key stakeholders, including state- and non-state actors.
- Perform other duties at the Embassy as necessary.
Required Skills and Experiences
- Documented academic degree in economy, agronomy, social science or related field relevant for the position.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of documented work in agriculture and inclusive economic development, including collaboration with civil society, private sector and the state.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of documented experience as programme officer.
- Minimum of seven (7) years of documented with development cooperation, either in Mozambique or internationally.
- Excellent administrative skills and documented experience in the usage of computers and office software packages, including Office, as well as web-based contribution management systems.
- Documented experience in budget analysis and follow-up.
- Unquestionable level of integrity and ethics and mature judgement and with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent written and spoken skills in English and Portuguese.
- Excellent organizational, self-leading and time management skills.
- Excellent team player, social, communication and problem-solving skills.
