On 13 March the Embassy of Sweden in Vilnius and Business Sweden hosted Swedish – Lithuanian Cyber Security seminar.
The Seminar provided an opportunity for the participants from both countries to discuss areas where Swedish companies can provide solutions for Lithuanian institutions and to establish contacts for future cooperation. Representatives from six Swedish cyber security industry companies presented their products, services and know-how, as well as learnt about Lithuanian priorities and interests within their fields.
In her introductory speech Ambassador of Sweden Maria Christina Lundqvist noted that shared challenges of maintaining a secure cyber environment give incentives for both Sweden and Lithuania to further increase preparedness and deepen their dialogue not only on the policy and military level, but also on business level. Ambassador also highlighted how Sweden’s technological sophistication and engineering tradition, in addition to an extensive experience of international cooperation, make Sweden an attractive and reliable partner for foreign countries, such as Lithuania. As close partners in the EU linked together by the Baltic Sea, Sweden and Lithuania have a mutual interest of aiding each other to strengthen their cyber security systems.
