On 16–17 April 2018, India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi visited Sweden at the invitation of Prime Minister Stefan Löfven.
Prime Minister Stefan Löfven received Prime Minister Modi for bilateral talks at Sager House which was followed by a working lunch at Rosenbad. Prime Minister Modi was also received at the Royal Palace for an audience with His Majesty the King and Her Royal Highness Crown Princess Victoria.
In the afternoon, Mr Modi and Mr Löfven took part in roundtable discussions with the business sector in the Stockholm City Hall. In the evening Prime Minister Löfven and Modi co-hosted a Nordic-India Summit dinner. Prime ministers from the Nordic countries – Lars Løkke Rasmussen, Denmark, Juha Sipilä, Finland, Katrín Jakobsdóttir, Iceland and Erna Solberg, Norway – took part. The visit concluded with Mr Modi giving a speech to the Indian diaspora in Sweden.
