H.E. Ambassador Niclas Trouvé presented his Letter of Credence to the President of the Republic of Hungary, H.E. Mr. János Áder, on 13 October 2014, following his appointment as Sweden's Ambassador to Hungary by the Government of Sweden on 14 August, 2014.
Ambassador Trouvé started his diplomatic career when joining the Ministry for Foreign Affairs in 1992. He has since served in various positions at the Ministry in Stockholm and at the Swedish Embassies in Helsinki, Tallinn and New Delhi. Between 2006 and 2010, he served as Sweden's Ambassador to Iraq, re-establishing the Swedish Embassy in Baghdad after the Gulf Wars. From 2010 until 2014, Ambassador Trouvé served as Sweden's Special Envoy to Afghanistan and Pakistan.
Ambassador Trouvé has also served as Deputy Director for European Security Policy at the Ministry for Foreign Affairs and as Foreign Affairs Expert in the Defence Commission of the Swedish Parliament. He has also served as an officer in the Swedish Army and holds the rank of Major (res).
Ambassador Trouvé graduated as Master of Science (International Economics and Geography) from Stockholm School of Economics. He has also studied Political Science and History at the Stockholm University as well as International Finance and Management at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania, Philadelphia, U.S.A.
Ambassador Trouvé was born in Danderyd, Sweden, 1966. He is not married and has no children.
