Sweden’s Minister for International Development Cooperation Mr. Peter Eriksson visited Georgia 18-20 March

The visit included meetings with the Georgian Government and Parliament, civil society organizations, development cooperation partners implementing projects funded by Sweden as well as a visit to the Administrative Border Line at Odzisi with the European Union Monitoring Mission. The visit also highlighted the 10th Anniversary of the Eastern Partnership and Georgia’s European approximation.

Sweden has been one of Georgia’s main development partners for more than 20 years, supporting reforms for European integration with a focus on democracy and human rights, environment, and economic development.

During this first bilateral visit, the Minister announced the Swedish government’s intention to increase its support to democracy reforms in Eastern Europe.
