Electionville in Lezha

19 Sep 2021, 11.00 AM

We are pleased to invite you to the play of the game Electionville in Lezha on 19 September 2021, from 11.00 to 15:00 at Memorial of Skanderbeg.

The Swedish Embassy in collaboration with the Swedish Institute and the United Nations Association Albania, UN delegation in Albania and Municipality of Lezha will play the game Electionville.

Electionville is a fictional city in the shape of an educational floor game, where the participants take on the challenging role of county council members. The purpose of the game is to educate and provide insights into local governance and democratic processes necessary for a functioning democracy. The game will be followed by group discussions about the issues raised in the game and what we can do to increase democracy in our communities.

This year, we intend to extend ElectionVille and offer participants a broader experience. On the afternoon of September 18th, we will be organizing a Coffee Talk with Lezha youth organization HANA, designed as an interactive space for participants to discuss local democracy and how it ties in with concepts of local governance, democratic processes, policymaking, public services and Sustainable Development Goals. The discussion will be followed by a training session on the ElectionVille game rules and general flow, in order to ease pressure for first-time participants.

The actual game will take on September 19th. Targeting the young people of Lezha, aged 15-27 years years old, we will welcome 20 participants, grouped into five parties. For the grande finale, we have planned a casual conversation with participants and partners of the event.
