Minors – extra documents

If you apply for a visa to visit Sweden as a minor, you need the documents listed below. Minors are anyone under 18 years of age.

You must have:

  • All children under 18 must submit an unabridged birth certificate issued by the Home Affairs (verified copy by Commissioner of oath).
  • Copies of parents'/legal guardians' identification card(s)
  • A child under 18 applying for a visa without parents, or with only one parent, must additionally submit; a parental written consent (verified by Commissioner of oath).
  • If only one parent has guardianship of the minor, the court documents stating this must be presented (verified copy by Commissioner of oath).
  • If the applicant is in the care of a guardian other than the parents, proof of the High Court’s appointment must accompany the application (verified copy by Commissioner of oath).
  • If a parent is deceased, his or her death certificate must accompany the application (verified copy by Commissioner of oath).
  • Documentation from school confirming attendance.
  • Application form must be signed by at least one parent/legal guardian.  Two signatues are required box 37 and end of page.
