The MFA does not decide over other countries’ laws and regulations. Disease control provisions vary from country to country. The MFA always urges Swedes abroad to comply with the country’s local laws.
It is primarily the authority in the country that took the decision on quarantine that is responsible for the people who have been placed in quarantine. If you have travelled with a travel operator and have been placed in quarantine in one of the operator’s hotels, you should contact your travel operator. Consular financial assistance does not include loans for board and lodging or for a continued stay abroad.
Contact local medical care service or the authority that is responsible for the quarantine decision. The MFA or embassies cannot provide you with medicines from Sweden.
All Swedes who are abroad should review their own situation. It may, for example, sometimes be best not to travel at all for some time to come. Travellers must adapt to the situation and accept a certain degree of uncertainty. Many travellers may be forced to remain abroad until air traffic gets underway again. Travel agencies and airlines are trying to bring everyone affected home. This is a decision the individual must take.

Follow the advice of the local authorities, which you can find on the Embassy’s travel information. You should also contact your insurance company’s emergency services centre.
