Voting at the Embassy

If you live in the Netherlands or visit the Netherlands during the election period, you can either vote by post or vote in advance at the Embassy of Sweden in the Hague. To be able to vote you must be or once have been registered in the Swedish Population register.

If you are registered in the electoral roll, you will have received postal voting material. That is also the easiest way to vote in the elections. Just mail your vote. Postal votes must have arrived in Sweden by the time votes are counted. Link to information about postal voting (in Swedish).

You can also vote early at the Embassy of Sweden in the Hague from Sunday 28 August until Tuesday 6 September 2022. You cannot vote on election day from abroad. (See the Embassy’s opening hours below).

Voting card and proof of identity

If you vote at the Embassy, you must bring your voting card and a proof of your identity. If you have not received your voting card, or you have lost it, you can get a new one at the Embassy.

If you don’t have a proof of your identity, you will not be able to vote!

Opening hours for voting:

Sunday 4 September:    11.00-16.00

Monday 5 September:    17.00-20.00

Tuesday 6 September:    17.00-20.00
